we could elaborate on things, specify how we shall move, or even what may happen. certainly there have been times in which the discussions yielded these kinds of particulars….but…you know maybe thats not the communication we should have at this moment. here and now. what is needed, ultimately, is a space for intimacy a

nd connection that begins to push against a possibility. the dynamic potential of a tribe carrying torches deep within bowels of the earth. the cavernous geological womb…watching the fire dance and the luminous rhythm create a shifting choreography with the animals painted on the walls.

this place can also be a bedroom or cinema or a warehouse. they them us we will congregate and gather to help each other thrive. to find ways of becoming a peoples of instantaneous magnitudes blossoming into the infinite impermanence… or , at the very least, we can make something happen that is new and for us. something whose precedent is an elaborate tapestry of interwoven histories extending along fractal meridians into the future and past lives of the selves we always knew we could be…come with me ill follow you.

this event is focused around an extended improvisation between groups and projects. every individual will be given a certain space-time frame in which to perform their personal work. however, this space-time frame will emerge from and merge with a larger collective platform. sights, musics, and costumed forms will be improvising into and out of each other.

Laying on three rocks. My left foot on the noose. My right on the skull. My back on the wood.
My friend the only friend layed below. A beckon of red hanging from his throat. Loyal and true he laid on small thorns.
Just another ripe vision of true. A twisted repulsion to rearrange this off hue. Each turning shadow replaced by her at once.
Lil witch with power summon defaults. Make them special for others that are lost. Take them in kindly, choose them full.
Give them violence, put them down on moss. Slight adjustments of light are strong enough to confuse. Who follows who, paradox of the muse. Set it balance, sphere and cube.
Step into the darkness. Walk among elders, grab a limb. They swing you distances, as you loosen the leaves. Failing to see how distances bleed. Set it balance, puddle of gore and pile of ash.
On a high rise, looking down at her virtue and benevolence, remembers the frost. Memories of canopy high, bare feet on moss.
Forgetting the chaos, stepping ahead, circuits converging we are all lost. Set it balanced, flesh and mind.
That hazy air that finds you on an off day, that's where I laid. A faithful friend he will follow me as far as any liquid end. With his beacon of love he’ll help me up. No fear is pending. Vacuum of light where no one began.

The first of expanding experiences at the 21st Warehouse  space DBRP is looking for artist and performers.   Works usually fall along the line of ritual and art. Laying down a hypnotic and meditative environment performances usually involve projection, sound, performance art / dance and imagery.

D3C0D3D is itself a ritual in visual and sonic rites in which the experiencer is lead into psychedelic realms through over lapping multi projected video and tonal tides which wash over the consciousness of the participant to allow for multidimensional decoding of subconscious thoughts and universal higher self concepts.

I felt Furst world would be an amazing place to bring in new energies and set the intentions of the year to come. There is also intended interactive elements, games, photobooths, face painting and magic. We are all here to entertain and inspire each other. I intend a performance aspect which involves professional fire swallowers and spinners. These aspects will be safely outside in the sand and should also include a portable aerial pyramid (allegedly) for what promises to offer an enticing and flowing circus environment. I anticipate these are all professional artists who create with purpose and safety is number one. Environmentalism is also paramount, we are fans of the "leave no trace" policy. Safety and cleanliness are the fulcrum by which this event pivots. In all, I want to assure that it will be a fun night where every one can really absorb a fully interactive spectacle while being responsible for their trash. I have a cleaning crew set up and all that we do is portable and makes zero impact on the environment and certainly no impact on the wonderful art installations.

We will arrive saturday afternoon to set up,claim campers or camp sights joshua tree hike after set up, then performances all night and a casual sunday morning breakfast, yoga workshop then lunch and good times. Clean up by sunfall and head off into the sunset on sunday night. Performers will be paid in tips and donations, some free food, beverages, fun and camping areas will be provided, but its encouraged you bring stuff to share as well. Invite any and all conscious people who will respect the lands, but all friends are welcome. There is also a pool and jaquzi so swim wear is advisable. I look forward very much to this event. If you have any concerns or creative ideas please let me know. Food is a potluck Everyone is encouraged to bring some food to share in team building and PLEASE BRING FIREWOOD!

I only started to under-stand what she said that early morning. Now that I have legs. Strange as she was she painted long strokes of inconsistencies that assure only the wealthy in doubt. I could feel my throat sing in the waters we stood. She answered the question who she wished she was.

Finding answers in odd places, when found became quite normal. A maker, a builder, my hands must be occupied. My body is my medium knowing every medium is an extension of the body. It has been a great privilege to have the opportunity to work with Brennan Lowe.  Parallax Beach was and is the first venture into choreography for myself.  Brennan has been very patient and a worthy aide and contemporary.  Although Brennan has expressed his feelings of seeing me as a mentor, I have learned a lot from Brennan.  He has and always challenges me and pushes my view on art and art process. Because of this I am excited to share with you, fellow viewer, his solo performance.

Come and support this very gifted young artist before he goes back to the east coast to finish his BFA.

Traveling through absurd environments and alternate states of consciousness, Volatile is a multi-media installation and performance about the fragility of sanity and the contextual relativity of identity. Referencing determinism and questioning the existence of free will, both the visceral and conceptual components of cognitive processes are pursued.

Brennan Lowe explores the malleability of the human mind from internal and external influences through meditation and performance inspired by Butoh, Fluxus, and German Expressionism. Thomas Stoeckinger examines the nature of perception by creating installations that reinterpret light and space

I wish that all my artist friends find a dignified job closely resembling their dreams and obsessions.

I wish that all my activist friends find the spiritual strength to continue fighting the many necessary fights on all fronts.

I wish that radical grace and uncompromising aesthetics remain the driving forces of my troupe.

I wish that all my friends and their friends find tender lovers to survive the loneliness of the American night.

I wish for the homeless of the world to find food, shelter and friendship. These are basic human rights.

I wish that all the greedy landlords trying to evict the working class suddenly wake up with amnesia and an empathetic heart.

I wish for all migrants to cross the borders they wish to cross successfully & safely.

I wish that Obama has an epiphany while he is taking a shit and remembers who he is.

I wish for the new pope to become truly radicalized and get lost every night in the streets of Vatican City catering to the poor and destitute.

I wish for the prison industry to collapse; for black and Latino youth to find a place of dignity in America.

I wish for the global project to continue derailing ad nauseam.

I wish for America to stop fearing otherness and diversity; and for white Americans to become less self-involved, arrogant & entitled.

I wish for the masterminds and perpetrators of war and violence to experience a daily living and unbearable hell; payback can’t wait for their next reincarnation.

I wish that all indigenous peoples continue to find ways to survive and thrive against all corporate and government odds and monsters.

I wish my mother remained a little longer on this earth. So many of us still need her poetic tenderness and quantum guidance.

I wish that my inner demons make truce with themselves. They drive me crazy, especially at night, especially in the U.S.

I wish to make peace with my intergalactic orphan-hood and with each of my multiple identities.

I passionately commit to make all these wishes come true, even if only in the realm of imagination, poetry, grassroots activism and art.

Excited to invite you to PARALAX BEACH's debut of "Parallax Scroll".

Severed moments of macrocosmic balance routinely underline human evolution. These moments intrigue, as modernity has alienated us from the immediacy of life. Perceptions of time become mercurial and subjective depending on perspective. Parallax Scroll will take the audience on a revisit through the emergence of life. A trip that re-exams light, language, and the development of society, ending in a space unresolved and recycled. All points can viewed when wading on a Parallax Beach.

PARALLAX BEACH's "Parallax Scroll" is a multi-media performance piece that bridges the abstract landscapes of sound, light, time, and movement. A collective of artists, each utilizing different mediums, come together to make this unique work. Wes Johansen creates a visual representation of abstract thought through digital video projection, edited live and synchronized to synthesizers. Mike Meanstreetz uses avant-garde percussion and composition techniques tangling the participants of this ritualistic performance in a web of synesthesia . These elements are accentuated as josie j conveys transformation to witnesses through ritualism/ meditative movement, influenced partly by Butoh training and a background in performance art. Also performing in this piece are Zachary Vidal (saxophone/sampled noise) providing textured mood, and Brennan Lowe (movement) setting the wheel of this cycle into motion.

Invoking the zeitgeist of the night's multi-disciplinary performance,

        elle mehrmand opens with a solo piece

divined of haunting sing-song and movement, foreshadowing what is to come.

Passing through the theater's entry way, the night's performances will be initiated both spatial and temporally by a traversable light and sound installation by the artist Lazer Blade.

On November 2 I realize Halloween at this point in my life has no meaning just like Christmas it has the stench of a sales man with nothing to sell, but an all consuming idea.  But I do feel I need a time to explicitly remember the dead and face death as a mortal that I am. 

On this day I was lucky to be part of Highways Performance Space Dia de los Muertos Celebration.  It was a performance that stemmed from a workshop conducted by La Pocha Noestra at Highways.

The Performance itself was a variety of talented performers showcasing a variety of styles.  Ranging from dance, singing, to performance, some including all three.  Sneak peek pictures coming soon.

After the show I was honored enough to be invited by Mike Meanstreetz to be part of a jam performance at a house in Echo Park.  It was a Zombie Day of the Dead Party.  I was happy enough to freak out some more and channel some ancestral wisdom to freak out the locals.  Didn't quite get enough at Highways I guess.  In the end it was a wonderful piece.  Lazer Blade on keys/ sound/ mythical puppet performance, Mike Meanstreetz on drums and triggers, Zac Vidal on sax, and a new one I just met (groove guy) ARCHITECT on sax...SAX, duo it was monstrous.
